How to enable Javascript in compatible web browsers

Firefox icon Firefox 1.5+

  1. Open the options window: Tools | Options (Windows), Edit | Preferences (Linux), Firefox menu | Preferences (Macintosh)
  2. Select the Content tab
  3. Select the checkbox labeled "Enable Javascript"

Firefox icon Firefox 1.0+

  1. Open the options window: Tools | Options (Windows), Edit | Preferences (Linux), Firefox menu | Preferences (Macintosh)
  2. Select "Web Features"
  3. Select the checkbox labeled "Enable Javascript"

Safari icon Safari

  1. From the top menu, select Safari | Preferences
  2. Select "Security"
  3. Select the checkbox labeled "Enable Javascript"

Opera icon Opera

  1. Open the options window: Tools | Preferences (Windows, Linux), Firefox menu | Preferences (Macintosh)
  2. Select content from the left hand navigation
  3. Select the checkbox labeled "Enable Javascript"

Google Chrome icon Google Chrome

By default, Google Chrome has Javascript enabled and it is not possible to enable/disable Javascript directly from within the Chrome brower. Should Javascript be disabled on your Chrome browser, do the following:

  1. Close all open Chrome windows
  2. Right-click on the Chrome icon or shortcut used to start Chrome
  3. Select properties
  4. Select the tab labeled, "Shortcut"
  5. Make sure the parameter, -disable-javascript, is not listed in the "Target" field and remove it if necessary

Internet Explorer icon Internet Explorer

  1. Open the Internet options window: Tools | Internet Options
  2. Select the tab labeled, "Security"
  3. Click the "Internet" zone
  4. Choose "Custom Level"
  5. Scroll down the resulting list to the "Scripting" section
  6. Click "Enable" for "Active Scripting"
